Meredith Schlacter graduated from Washington University School of Law in 2014, where she was a student attorney in the Juvenile Law and Justice Clinic and an Executive Notes and Projects Editor for the Journal of Law & Policy.  Upon graduating, Meredith clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven M. Gold in the Eastern District of New York and for U.S. District Judge Julie A. Robinson and U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Rushfelt in the District of Kansas.  Meredith worked as an appellate public defender at Appellate Advocates in New York City from 2016 until joining the Capital Habeas Unit in 2022.
