Assistant Federal Defender

Katie Y. Wang has been representing indigent individuals charged with federal crimes since 2015.  She graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Health.  After graduation, she taught in East Harlem in New York City. She then attended the Fordham University School of Law, where she participated in the Stein Scholars Program in Public Interest Law and Ethics and during which she interned at a human rights organization in southeastern Africa. After practicing civil rights law, she joined the San Antonio office of the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Western District of Texas, where she worked on noncapital and capital cases.  She continues her commitment to zealously representing indigent individuals as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Western District of Missouri.
