Jedrick Burgos graduated in 1995 from the University of Puerto Rico College of Engineering with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He received his law degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 1999. After graduating, he practiced for 4 years with the Legal Aid Society of Puerto Rico as a trial, appellate and post-conviction defender. He spent 15 years in private practice handling criminal cases before the Puerto Rico local courts, United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rio, United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and United States Supreme Court. During his career, he has served as a professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Arecibo and has conducted CLE programs on federal criminal practice.
In 2019, he became an Assistant Federal Public Defender at the Office of the Public Defender – Western District of Missouri in Kansas City. Jedrick’s entire legal career has been devoted to the defense of the indigent accused in state and federal criminal cases.
