Jeremy Weis graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1999. Upon graduation he joined the Public Interest Litigation Clinic in Kansas City where he represented capital defendants in habeas proceedings in the federal courts. In 2001, Jeremy joined the Missouri State Public Defender’s trial office in Kansas City, Missouri where he represented indigent clients in pre-trial and trial proceedings. In 2003, Jeremy joined the criminal defense firm of Wyrsch Hobbs & Mirakian, P.C. where he focused on federal criminal matters including capital representation. Jeremy joined the firm of Berkowitz Oliver in 2006 and became a partner in the firm. He was a member of the firm’s criminal defense practice and handled federal criminal matters across the United States. In 2013, Jeremy formed his own firm, Gaddy Weis LLC, along with another criminal defense attorney and remained there until he joined the Federal Public Defender’s Office in 2017 as a member of the capital habeas unit.
