Bill Raymond is a criminal defense attorney who has been working as a public defender in State and Federal Court for 17 years. Bill spent ten years working in the Jackson County Public Defender’s Office handling a large caseload that consisted of every grade of felony in Missouri from Murder First Degree and Assaults and Robberies to Sex Offenses and various other state felonies. While working for the Missouri Public Defender’s Office Bill served as a team leader supervising and training new attorneys. Bill has spent the last seven years working as a Federal Defender in the Western District of Missouri handling a trial and appellate caseload.
Bill is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law where he teaches a trial skills course. As faculty for the Missouri Public Defender Trial Skills Training Program, Bill has instructed and given demonstrations on a wide variety of topics including evidentiary foundations, sentencing mitigation, effective sentencing presentations, closing argument and effective trial strategy. Bill has instructed at Federal training seminars on sentencing mitigation and maintaining effective client relationships.
